I just listened to Tokio Hotel's new album,
Humanoid. The songs are
AWESOME.Okay that may be a biased comment. But the songs are nice. :D
Very different from their previous album. More pop/electronica/rock.
And Bill is still as pretty and Tom is just as hot. Yup, I haven't forgotten them okay!
Even with me in all this Kpop gaga.
Hmm, looking back, I seriously don't remember how I got into the Hallyu fever.
Cause I used to be sooooo into Jpop
(or more specifically Johnny's Ent) then I sort of just converted halfway.
I know it started with JUST Dbsk, then I caught up with the other SME acts, then the dominoes just fell into place I guess. Not to mention, most of my AC band friends are very much into Kpop too.
(See Tune In videos) Maybe their influence played a part.
But I think the main reason is
NEWS' ALMOST NO NEWS. :(
Like seriously,
1 single this year. D:
And it wasn't all that awesome either, compared to last year's songs.
Even though they participated in 24 TV, 2009 ain't a NEWS year. Yah. :(
Their absence made me bored of waiting so I chanelled my boredom into somthing else, and that something happened to be DBSK!!
And the rest is history.
So that briefly describes my switch in fandoms. Hahah.
I think it will give Hayati a peace of mind. I didn't wholly betray Jpop okay! I just found Kpop more happening. :D
Okay. Change topic.
BAND CAMP WAS FUN! And extremely tiring.
Seriously. Played my horn like nobody's business for the full 3 days.
I didn't think I improved THAT much, but I came back with
torn lips anyway.
Super ultra painful. :(
But I'm not alone, so I shouldn't be complaining.
Anyway the highlight of this camp is definitely the night games and ensemble competition!
Let's start with the games.
Basically, the games are okay, but because it was played at night and in the dark, it totally brings it up to a whole new level.
The whole "haunted" concept thing is really good. :D
I don't know how to summarise everything into words but it's just really really
really fun!
(Like, till the police even came, but nevermind. Skip this part.)Anw, I got to know the people around me a lot better, and actually start speaking to people whom I don't usually talk to. Overall a memorable experience. Kudos to the Ex-cos ! :D
As usual, no pictures from the camera-less me. I hope people start putting their photo's on Facebook already. D:
Then, there was the ensemble competition, which was a totally new thing for all of us.
Played in a wind quintet for the first time. And from there, I realise how .........
interesting it is, playing the bassline.
It is totally not fun, all the spammation of low notes beyond my "nice" range. On top of that, I had to be a woodwind instrument, so cracking is an ultimate no-no.
I feel you Ruiheng. ): Tuba is not fun.
Band talk aside, the competition was a real learning experience. I'd definitely wanna do it again. :D
Totallye looking forward to next year's band camp. :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wordy post from me. I don't know when I'll update again though. My life is bandless till next year, unless you count BandFest?
Speaking of which,
DO YOU WANNA WATCH BAND FEST CONCERT?20 December. Tix selling at $12. Its at esplanade so $12 is a
highly reasonable price. And there's a guest Polish Band playing alongside the Honour Band so you can expect good music.
Anyone?? Please? :(
i need a life.
( I had this post saved in Drafts for so long and I'm finally posting it yay. )I think I've run out of motivation, inspiration and angst to keep this blog going, despite it being the holidays.
Holidays, technically speaking of course. The only thing I wear more often than my school uniform is my pajamas. And I miss having meals at home. :(
Anyway, things were pretty happening this week. Happening as in,
I-did-something-else-which-ain't-related-to-band. Yup.
I met with
Alfie, Gha, WeiJuan, Liwen and
Olga on Monday! :D
With the exception of Olga, I haven't really met or spoke to any of them for almost a year. D:
So it was a good catching up session. Even though I was really drained after band, I had a good laugh with all of them. I never knew Secondary school days were so memorable. Hmmm, good times good times.
Tuesday had CIP at Grace Haven home. Apparently, those were my hardest earned CIP hours ever. Like,
ever. I would totally pick cleaning up Changi beach over this, but I guess a lot of lessons were learned through this experience. I'm partly grateful for that. Still a rant is rant, and that won't stop me from ranting about it. 8D
So anyway, picture this, you're a band member, performing for a bunch of kids, supposedly from broken families and all they do is fidget and hurl bad comments. I mean I can understand if they start to get restless cause the songs were boring or whatsoever, but the comments were really unnecessary. Not to mention rude. xC
Of course, many other things happened that weren't really pleasant. It just makes you wonder why
Then again, I'm still glad I went through this experience. It makes you appreciate what you have.
(I spent 30 mins typing a real long and emo post only to backspace all of it later.)
Thus, this very condensed post shall end here abruptly.
